5 Tips To Start ‘Leaning Out’

First and foremost, let’s be clear that without changing certain variables in your routine you will not see change in your body. Those include training volume, nutrition/calorie intake, and other things like sleep and life stress.

Here’s a few tips from our Nutrition Coach Allison McGree to get you started.

1) Try to think of carbs as fueling activity, so you can keep them lower if you’re not working out.

2) Focus on real, non-processed food and water. Think about getting colorful foods and aiming for half your bodyweight in ounces of water per day.

3) Sleep a lot and work on minimizing stress as much as you can (Example: go on walks as often as possible, even if they are short).

4) Shorten the amount of hours you eat to be a maximum of 12 hours a day. For example, if you have breakfast at 7am, try to finish eating for the day by 7pm.

5) Try to develop awareness of when you’re eating, if you feel hungry, and what you’re craving. Try to limit or abstain from empty calories like alcohol.

Much of this is easier said than done, but if you’re looking to have success with nutrition the best route is with accountability. Find out more by setting up a free nutrition consult with us HERE.
